Joy Bateman, a native of Memphis, Tennessee, is gaining recognition nationally for her talent as an artist and a publisher. She has successfully produced eight books: The Art of Dining in Memphis, The Art of Dining in New Orleans , The Art of Dining in Nashville, The Art of Dining in Amelia Island, The Art of Dining in Knoxville, The Art of Dining in Memphis 2, The Art of Dining in New Orleans 2 , The Art of Dining in Memphis 3.

Joy has recently begun to work on her 4th book on Memphis. The Art of Dining in Memphis 4. Hopefully this book will be out the spring of 2020 with her book signing at Novel.

Joy has also built quite a reputation as the one of the region's leaders in media sales. As of six months ago she started her third career as an account executive for Delta Magazine, one of the South's premier, bi monthly, lifestyle magazines. On board in hopes to earn a similar track record as her two previous publications. Memphis magazine and Memphis Business Journal where Joy produced unparalleled sales like no other. Incidentally, speaking of track records, she had a track record in high school running the 50 yard dash and the 440 like no other. Some things never change. Being competitive that is... Regardless of the subject or even the years that go by.

Joy's parents, Joyce Gingold, still living at 93 is a national recognized sculptor and taught art at the prestigious private girl's school, St. Mary's for 40 years. Lester Gingold, deceased this past October at age 96, quite a publisher and media person himself, inspired Joy's talent.

Joy is especially proud of her three children and four grandchildren. Her daughter, Anna Wunderlich, married to Benjamin Wunderlich is a mother of three and an art consultant. Her oldest son , Brown Burch, married to artist Betsy Bracken is a private chef for Pit and Barbara Hyde. Her youngest son, William Bateman is a lawyer and a captain in the US Marines.

When Joy is not selling, cooking, painting or writing, she enjoys spending time with her grandchildren. With Bays and Lucille it could be swimming, cooking, art projects, going to plays and The Children's Museum. The boys, Ben and Alex when available as they are hugely involved in all sports find it cool to take a friend and go to places to eat like Pete & Sam's , Folk's Folly or Benihanas.
Joy also enjoys tennis and spending as much time as possible at the beach with her husband, Bill Anderson. In case you have not guessed, the family is very important. Joy is aware that she is living an incredible blessed life, and "with God all things are possible." Matt. 19:26
